The Casey Fund was recently created to help On the Rebound (OTR) Bulldog Rescue Foundation financially support those bullies that need extra care.

Meet Casey
Casey was found roaming the streets in a small town in Delaware after his family abandoned him and he subsisted only by scrounging and living day to day in the wild. After a call from a concerned citizen, the local pound found Casey in such terrible shape, and so desperately sick, that he probably would not survive. Then OTR rescued him.

A new life
Thankfully, he survived the night and the foundation vet evaluated his dire status the next day. He was nine years old, 28 pounds (an adult male bulldog averages between 60 and 70), full of worms, covered inside and out with infection, infested with fleas and ticks, and could barely walk from the arthritis he had contracted from Lyme disease. With much medical attention and assistance from OTR, Casey was soon gaining weight, fighting his ailments and snorting and sighing his way into the hearts of the family who adopted him andgave him the life that should have been his from the beginning.

As those first uncertain minutes of life turned into days and then months, Casey was soon showing his fun-loving spirit by playing hide and seek, obsessing with toys, playfully interacting with his owners, and showing his desire to be part of a new family by always being under foot. He was the sweetest, gentlest, and greatest little Monster his family ever knew and he returned in kind the same love and attention to everyone who helped him.

Notwithstanding Casey's other life, he had an incredible year and a half of pampering, frolicking, snuggling, and eating, but sadly, Casey's previous tough life eventually caught up with him when his heart and kidneys started to fail. With his family holding him in the comfort of his home, Casey finally left us.
